Homemade Taco Seasoning

Taco Seasoning.jpg

Forget the MSG and additive-loaded packages of pre-made taco seasoning, here is the robust recipe for the perfect spices to flavor up your next batch of tacos or fajitas! Tastes wonderfully on chicken, steak, shrimp, pork, vegetables, and anything else that needs a nice Spanish kick! Pairs wonderfully with fresh lime juice as well! I use about 2-3 Tbsp. per pound of meat, but start with 1 Tbsp. and work your way up gradually to taste.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. cumin
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 tsp. smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper

Directions:

  1. Combine all the seasonings in a small bowl and mix until combined. Store in an air-tight container or Ziploc.

Yields approximately 5 servings.
